Stevie's Corner

You'll get no 4/1 favourites in Stevie's Corner. Just tasty, good value each way bets!

This week we had to North Carolina for the Wyndham championship and as ever at STEVIES CORNER, I've been sifting through some value for money bets:

01

Sam Stevens 45/1

Sam is establishing himself on the PGA tour this year and it seems only a matter of time til he breaks through and claims his maiden title, could it be this week? Let's wait and see.

02

Andrew Novak 50/1

Andrew has played some sparkling golf this year, maybe only bettered by the likes of sheffler, Mcilroy and maybe Ben Griffin, however if able to get the flat stick on fire, he could claim his 2nd win of the season, having already won with Griffin in New Orleans

03

Victor Perez 80/1

Victor has certainly come into his own over the past few weeks with decent performances in both recent majors, if fatigue hasn't caught up with him, a bold showing at tremendous odds is on the cards.

Chicken Gravy

Heat a saucepan over medium heat. Add ½ cup of drippings (or chicken broth) to the pan. Add ¼ cup flour and whisk together until it makes a smooth paste (add more flour if it seems a little greasy). Cook, whisking, until the mixture begins to change to a light golden color.

Add broth and more drippings: Whisk in 2 cups of chicken broth and an additional ¼ cup of drippings (or teaspoon of chicken bouillon paste).

Thicken: Allow the gravy to cook, whisking constantly for about 5 to 8 minutes, or until thickened. If the gravy is too thick, add more broth or drippings liquid. If the gravy is too thin after cooking for 10 minutes, add a cornstarch slurry (mix 1 teaspoon of cornstarch with 1 tablespoon of water and then add it to the gravy).

Once you are happy with the consistency of your gravy, taste it. Add more pepper (and salt if needed), and some chicken bullion taste if you want to further boost the flavor.
